I had unprotected sex 2 to 3 years ago. I did two HIV tests after 2 years, both of which were negative. I have no symptoms, but I want to get tested for other STDs besides HIV. Which tests should I do? I had only one unprotected encounter with an unknown person. I live in Iraq, are there significant risks I should be aware of?

HIV tests negative after 2 years means HIV ruled out. Good to test for other STDs once. Do VDRL (Syphilis), HBsAg (Hep B), Gonorrhoea & Chlamydia tests. No symptoms + 2 to 3 years means low risk. Testing gives peace of mind.
Dr. Bhanu Suggests...
Take a VDRL Test (Venereal Disease Research Laboratory) Test or Take a HBsAg Test (Hepatitis B surface antigen) Test

Hi, My doctor has prescribed several tests for my husband and me before our IUI. We have already done tests like Vitamin D, HSG, prolactin, thyroid, and semen analysis. Now, just a few days before the IUI, we are being asked to do four more tests: HIV, anti HIV, HBsAg, and VDRL. The procedure is becoming very costly. Are these tests really necessary before IUI?
