Hey, I was prescribed gris odt 250mg for a fungal infection on my back. But when I went to get it, they gave me grisovin FP 250mg because they were out of stock of the original one. I'm a little worried and just want to know if it's okay to use this as a substitute? Can you help me out here?

Grisovin FP (250mg) is a suitable alternative to Gris ODT (250mg) for fungal infections since they have the same active ingredient (Griseofulvin) and similar formulation (oral tablets). Consult your doctor and monitor your response to the medication.

Medication Differences
- Grisovin FP (Griseofulvin) and Gris ODT (Terbinafine) are distinct antifungal medications with different mechanisms and effectiveness.
-
Usage Considerations
- Griseofulvin: Typically for infections affecting hair, skin, and nails caused by dermatophytes; requires longer treatment.
- Terbinafine: Preferred for skin infections; works faster and covers a broader range of fungi.
-
Recommendation
- Do not substitute medications without consulting your healthcare provider.
- Contact your doctor to discuss any concerns or issues with the prescribed medication.
-
Action Steps
- Follow the prescribed treatment plan.
- Ensure professional guidance before making any medication changes.
