A platelet count of 126,000 is a little below normal, but if there are no signs of infection, bleeding, or illness, its usually not urgent. Sometimes, this can happen after a mild viral illness or due to vitamin deficiency. Its a good idea to repeat the CBC after 1 to 2 weeks, and if it stays low, more tests can be done to find the cause.

My father is suffering from low platelet count. Every time his test report shows between 45,000 to 15,000 per microliter.
