Hi. My VDRL is positive and TPHA is 1.0 negative. In October, my report showed this. The doctor gave 4 injections of 1.2 lakh each over 2 weeks. Before 2008, my VDRL was active and TPHA was not active. The doctor gave 2 injections of 2.4 lakh. From 2008 to August 2017, I did not have any ulcers. In 2017, one night I slept and in the morning I noticed a black spot on the shaft of my penis. The next day an ulcer appeared on the skin and after 4 days it went away, but the skin color did not return to normal. Recently, I have much itching and burning. Please help. I am currently in KSA.

TPHA negative suggests no active syphilis, but skin symptoms may need dermatology review. Could be post inflammatory or fungal. Not likely syphilis relapse.
Dr. Shaik Suggests...
Take a VDRL Test (Venereal Disease Research Laboratory) Test or Take a TPHA Test (Treponema Pallidium Hemagglutination Assay) Test

Hello Doctor, I recently had a TPHA test, and the results show a reactive obtained value but non reactive units. I am confused and would like to know whether this means the test is positive or negative, and what the final interpretation of the report would be.
