Hi. My wife is 12 weeks pregnant and everything is normal in her blood report including thyroid, sugar and hemoglobin. The doctor has asked her to go for an NT scan along with Double Marker, which is optional. They said Double Marker will cost 4000 Rs. I need your suggestions. Is Double Marker really required if everything is normal in her blood report?

Double Marker is a screening test for chromosomal anomalies. Even if routine labs are fine, it is still advised. NT scan + Double Marker gives better risk assessment.
