Elevated cholesterol requires dietary changes, exercise, and sometimes medication. You should take a Lipid Profile and HbA1c to guide management based on risk factors.
Dr. Bhanu Suggests...
Take a LIPID PROFILE Test or Take a HBA1C (GLYCATED HEMOGLOBIN) Test

Dear Doctor, please suggest what to do? My husband HDL levels are very low. He was using statins to control triglycerides, which were over 100 and are now 171. I am worried about his HDL levels. His lipid profile shows total cholesterol 118 mg/dl, HDL cholesterol 24 mg/dl, LDL cholesterol 60 mg/dl, triglycerides 171 mg/dl, TC/HDL cholesterol ratio 4.9, LDL/HDL ratio 2.5, VLDL cholesterol 34.2 mg/dl, and non-HDL cholesterol 93.6 mg/dl.
