How can I treat kidney stones at home?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
One can increase water intake along with lemon juice. You are recommended to drink 12 glasses of water in a day to speed up the stone passing process. However, if your stone size is more than 7mm then you may need surgical intervention.

My dad is 85 years old. He has been complaining that after passing urine, he does not feel comfortable and shivers afterward. His report shows serum creatinine 1.2 mg/dl. His kidneys are normal, and the bladder has a 3.3 cm faceted mobile stone. Premicturition volume is 194 cc, and postmicturition volume is nil. His prostate is 37 gm. Kindly advise? Thank you.

I have two kidney stones. My ultrasound scan shows a 10.3 mm stone in the right kidney and a 6.3 mm stone in the left kidney. The scan also notes mildly increased renal parenchymal echogenicity, suggesting medical renal disease, with bilateral non obstructing calculi. My urine and blood tests show a creatinine level of 1.65 mg/dL, urea of 31.9 mg/dL, blood urea nitrogen of 14.9 mg/dL, and protein 1. I would like to understand what this means for my kidney health and what steps I should take next.
