I am 66 years old. My thyroid test was done on an empty stomach after taking my thyroid medicine. The results show TSH is 3.65, T3 is 0.65 ng/mL (slightly low) and T4 is 5.96 microgram/dL (slightly low). I am taking 25 mcg of thyroxine daily. Are these results normal, or could they be inaccurate because I took the medicine before the test?

TSH is within range, but low T3/T4 suggest under treatment. Test should be done before taking medicine. Please repeat test before dose and consult your doctor.

View allHi, I recently got my thyroid checked after delivery (I delivered a baby a year ago). My report shows TSH is 4.26. I want to know if this is normal or if I need any medication. P.S. The sample was taken on an empty stomach in the morning.

Hi Doctor, I have been dealing with a mild thyroid issue (TSH 5.0) for the past 8 months. Recently, I noticed dry skin, so I repeated the thyroid test, and now my TSH is 7.8. How concerning is this? Can it be managed through nutrition, meditation, and exercise, or should I consult a doctor as soon as possible? I would greatly appreciate your advice. Please refer to the attached screenshot of my test report.
