I am sharing my report and just want a review on it. My platelets are low and lymphocytes are high. Is it okay and what should I do?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
A slightly low platelet count and higher lymphocytes can be seen post viral illness or due to mild inflammation. If you are not experiencing bleeding, bruising, or fatigue, there is no immediate concern. Monitoring with a follow up test may help ensure things normalize.

My mother, aged 52, was recently admitted to the hospital and received treatment for fever. The final diagnosis mentioned enteric fever and acute febrile illness. Her blood report shows a white blood cell count of 12,300 cells per cumm and a platelet count of 5.38 lakhs per cumm. I would like to understand what this could indicate. Is this a serious condition, and should we consult a hematologist?
