What may be the reason for these symptoms and on and off spotting?

A beta HCG of 0.36 mIU/ml indicates a negative pregnancy status. If periods are delayed or irregular, repeat test after 3 to 5 days for confirmation. You should take a Serum Beta HCG Quantitative test to definitively rule out pregnancy.
