My dad has had an inguinal hernia near his groin area for the past 4 years and sometimes faces discomfort but refuses surgery. Could this lead to serious issues if left untreated? We're now considering surgery what's the best type for his condition and who are the top doctors for this in Ludhiana?
An untreated inguinal hernia can enlarge, causing increased pain and discomfort. It could also become incarcerated (stuck) or strangulated (blood flow cut off), leading to severe pain, vomiting, and even a bowel obstruction requiring emergency surgery

I have a 5mm umbilical hernia with no pain or other symptoms, but I deal with frequent constipation. Should I just wait and see how it goes or is surgery the better option? Looking for advice from a general surgeon or gastroenterology specialist.
Umbilical hernia no matter how small will need surgical correction only. Nothing else will help.
