I had inguinal hernia surgery 28 days ago, but for the past 3 days, I've been having pain in my thyroid area. Could this be related to the surgery or is it something else? Wondering why this is happening now.

It's unlikely that thyroid pain is directly related to an inguinal hernia surgery, especially occurring three weeks after the procedure. While some pain can be expected after surgery, thyroid pain is not a typical symptom. It's possible this could be a separate issue, and it's best to consult with a doctor for proper diagnosis and guidance.

View allMy dad is 64 years old and weighs 100kg. Can he lose weight naturally without surgery and get down to 70-80kg? Is that even possible at his age?
The golden rules of weight loss still apply: Burn more calories than you eat or drink. Eat more veggies, fruits, whole grains, fish, beans, and low-fat or fat-free dairy; and keep meat and poultry lean. Limit empty calories, like sugars and foods with little or no nutritional value.

Hey, so I've got hypothyroidism and I'm on levothyroxine, taking 100mcg a day. I've been wondering about what might happen if I accidentally took 2 or 3 pills one day. Is there a risk of something really serious happening, like dying from taking too much? I get a bit anxious because sometimes I forget if I've already taken my dose for the day, and I've always been curious about just how dangerous it is like, how much would it take for it to be really harmful?
Taking more than the prescribed dose of levothyroxine can lead to symptoms of hyperthyroidism, such as palpitations, weight loss, and irritability. In severe cases, it can lead to complications like cardiac arrhythmias or osteoporosis. However, it is unlikely to be fatal unless extremely high doses are ingested. It is important to take your medication as prescribed and if you are unsure whether you have taken your dose for the day, it is best to skip it rather than double or triple the dose. If you are frequently forgetting whether you have taken your medication, you may want to consider using a pill organizer to help keep track.

I've been really puzzled and a bit worried. I had an IUI on the 16th of March and got an HCG trigger shot of 10,000 units on the night of the 14th. But then, a few days later, I decided to take a home pregnancy test and got a negative result. I even tested multiple times and still got negatives. How could this be happening?
