I had a postprandial blood sugar (PPBS) test 2 hours after a meal, and the result was 250. Can you explain why this level is high? Also, can I take fish oil (Omega 3) for cholesterol management?

A PPBS of 250 is high, indicating high post meal blood sugar, possibly diabetes or poor sugar control. It can increase due to high carb meals, low activity, or insulin resistance. Focus on low carb, high fiber meals and regular exercise. For cholesterol, Omega 3 fish oil can help, but check with your doctor as it does not lower blood sugar. Do Fasting Blood Sugar, HbA1c, and Lipid Profile for a full assessment.

View allI have recently done a blood test, and my report shows a fasting blood glucose of 286 mg/dl and postprandial glucose of 393 mg/dl. Please suggest how I can control this by managing my diet and doing exercise. Which foods should be avoided?

Hello doctor, my father recently had a sugar test. His fasting sugar level was 132 and 2 hour post sugar level was 95. Does he need to start medication? His blood picture is attached below.

His fasting blood sugar is 256 and postprandial is 432. This was found during a routine checkup. All nearby doctors are fully booked, and the earliest appointment we could get is on the 4th. Is there anything we can do in the meantime?
