I had surgery for piles a while ago and have been using laxatives for about 9-10 months to help with recovery. Now I can't seem to pass stool without them. How do I know if I've become dependent on laxatives and what can I do to fix this?

View allI'm having a bit of trouble with my breathing every evening; it feels like some sort of shortness of breath. I suspect it might be linked to acid reflux because when I manage to get rid of some gas, my breathing seems to return to normal. The feeling's pretty uncomfortable when the gas is there, and I'm starting to worry if there might be a lung issue going on. Could this be something related to my lungs, or is it really just about the reflux? Any guidance would be really appreciated.

Doctor, my SGOT is 53 and SGPT is 75, plus I have Gilbert syndrome and multiple gallstones with the largest being 7.2mm. I'm considering surgery but I'm a bit worried is it safe to go ahead with it given my condition?
Gilbert syndrome and mildly raised LFTs usually don’t cause surgical risk—discuss anesthesia clearance and hydration protocol with surgeon.
