I had unprotected sex with an unknown partner 65 days ago. Today, I did an HIV 1 and 2 antibody test, which came back negative. I do not have any symptoms related to HIV, but I have had allergic throat irritation and acne problems for the past year. Am I safe from HIV, and is this test conclusive at this stage?

An HIV 1 and 2 antibody test done 65 days after exposure is usually reliable, as most people develop detectable antibodies by 6 to 8 weeks. Since your test is negative and you have no symptoms, it is reassuring. To be fully conclusive, a HIV antibody test can be repeated at 90 days for peace of mind. Throat irritation and acne are not related to HIV if they are ongoing from before.

After 10 weeks (70 days) of unprotected sex with a sex worker, I took a 4th generation HIV assay test at SRL Lab, and the result was non reactive. How safe am I from HIV after 90 days? Sir, I have a doubt regarding HIV testing. If a person tests negative at 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, or even 10 years after exposure, but later tests positive, is it true that this depends on the immune system? Does this mean there is no conclusive test for HIV?
