I have a 7mm umbilical hernia and I've been going to the gym and lifting weights. Is there any way to cure this without surgery and could working out make the hernia worse
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
A 7mm umbilical hernia, while small, generally cannot be cured without surgery in adults. While exercise can help strengthen abdominal muscles, activities that increase pressure in the abdomen, like heavy lifting or sit-ups, can worsen the hernia. It's best to consult a doctor for advice on managing your hernia and safe exercise

View allI've had three hernia surgeries already and now I feel like it's coming back again. How do I push it back safely? I'm really confused and worried about what to do next.
It's understandable that you're concerned about a potential hernia recurrence after multiple surgeries. Do not attempt to push it back on your own. This could be dangerous and potentially cause serious complications. You should seek immediate medical attention to confirm the diagnosis and discuss appropriate treatment options

My father was diagnosed with an umbilical hernia at Apollo Hospital Nellore. The laparoscopic surgeon recommended surgery, saying it can't be cured with medicines. His abdomen has been slightly bigger for the past year with swelling at the umbilical area. Is surgery really the only option or can it be treated with tablets

Can you review my USG reports and advise if I need gallbladder removal surgery? What symptoms should I watch for that would mean surgery is necessary since I've heard it's only done for symptomatic gallstones?
