I have been suffering from tiredness for the last 20 days. My blood report shows T3 3.17 nmol per L, TSH 11.01 uIU per L, and T4 is normal. My weight is increasing and I feel sleepy all day. The doctor has prescribed Thyrox 25 McLeods and Amitriptyline HCl 10 mg. Is it okay to take this medicine or should I consult another specialist. Please suggest what food to eat to recover and how much time it will take to recover completely?

Thyroid is underactive hypothyroidism. Treatment is correct. Symptoms may take weeks to improve. Recheck TSH in 6 weeks.

My mother has had thyroid issues for a long time and she takes her medicine regularly. She works a lot at home but is still unable to reduce her weight. She has rheumatoid arthritis and because of it, she is unable to do exercise or any extra outdoor activity to reduce weight. Painkillers have side effects on her, so she is now taking Ayurvedic medicines for pain relief. Recently, I had her general health test done through 1mg. Her thyroid was slightly high and her WBC count was elevated, but not to the extent that needs immediate medical attention. She is coping well, but there are some gaps in her healthcare. She has visited different doctors, but things are still not improving. I am unable to find a correct doctor for her so that we can take proper care of her health?

My thyroid was removed at the age of 20 (seven years ago0 and my TSH is normal. In this situation, would there be any problem with pregnancy, and would there be any problems with the health of the child before or after delivery?
