I have done a Widal test, and the results are positive: S. Typhi O is 1:160 and S. Typhi H is 1:80. I am not having any fever at the moment. Are these values considered high, medium, or low? How long will it take to recover, and could you please suggest any appropriate treatment or medicines?

Your Widal test result (O: 1:160, H: 1:80) may suggest a past or early typhoid infection, but since you have no fever, this may not be an active case. Widal alone is not fully reliable. To confirm whether treatment is needed, its best to do a Typhidot or blood culture test. Avoid taking antibiotics unless confirmed. Most mild typhoid cases recover in 7 to 10 days with the right medicine.

View allMy Widal test report from two weeks ago shows S. Typhi O at 1:160 and S. Typhi H at 1:320. I am a 34 year old male and would like to know if this indicates typhoid. If yes, please suggest the appropriate diet and medications. Additionally, a few bacteria were found in my urine, and some white fat was observed in the blood sample during the test.

My brother has typhoid, but the doctor prescribed me Tab Cifran 250, Tab Dolo 650, and Tab Becosules. I feel these tablets may not be proper. Can I take these tablets? My blood report shows Salmonella typhi O: 1:160, Salmonella typhi H: 1:160, Salmonella paratyphi AH: 1:20, and Salmonella paratyphi BH: 1:20. What precautions should be taken?
