I have had a really bad sore throat for a month now. I have gone to urgent care twice and the results for strep tonsillitis and mono all came back negative. I was given a steroid drink at urgent care and antibiotics but it is still getting worse. Both my tonsils are swollen but one side is much worse. I also have white and yellow spots on them and it almost looks like a sore is starting to grow. The only other possible symptoms are pain in the upper left side of my stomach and really bad acid reflux.

Persistent sore throat with one sided swelling and spots may need ENT evaluation. It could be chronic tonsillitis or another infection that needs stronger or targeted treatment.

View allMy father is 80 years old and has been suffering from fever for the past 10 days. He was on antibiotics for 5 days and admitted to the hospital after an X ray showed pneumonia and his blood report showed a high WBC count (16,400). After one day of treatment in the hospital, the fever subsided, but the doctor advised to continue treatment for 5 to 6 days before discharge. Now, he has swelling in his hands and legs, and he is also having bathroom related issues. What could be the reason for this swelling, and is it serious?

I started feeling unwell with body aches and a temperature of 100F. I took paracetamol, and my temperature returned to normal, but then I developed a cough and mild sore throat. In the morning, I felt cold and my temperature rose to 102F. I took paracetamol again, which brought it down, but the fever returned by 11 am. I consulted a physician and have attached his prescription and test report. After taking the prescribed medicines, I felt better, but I still feel very weak. Last night, I experienced restlessness, excessive sweating, and a rapid heartbeat for a few minutes. I am unsure what happened.
