I recently had a thyroid function test (T3, T4, and TSH) done, but I am not sure how to interpret the results. My report shows T3: 0.52 ng/mL, T4: 4.70 microgram/dL, and TSH: 2.36 microIU/mL. Could you please tell me if these results indicate a thyroid problem or if they are within the normal range?

TSH is normal. T3 is mildly low, T4 slightly low. It may suggest early or subclinical hypothyroidism. Repeat after 3 to 6 weeks.
Dr. Bhanu Suggests...
Take a Thyroid Profile (T3 T4 TSH) Test Test or Take a THYROID PEROXIDASE ANTIBODIES (ANTI MICROSOMAL ANTIBODIES) Test

View allHi Sir, for the past one month I have been feeling very hot all over my body, but my thermometer shows a normal temperature. I have done all the necessary blood tests with a trusted doctor, but no solution was found. I have been taking antibiotics for the past month, but the doctor advised me to stop due to side effects. About six months ago, I had the same problem, and at that time the same doctor prescribed antibiotics as nothing abnormal was found in the blood report. Please advise what I should do now and which type of doctor I should consult?

I recently went for a blood test, and my results were: TSH 143.67 mIU/L, T3 70 ng/dL, and T4 4.8 microgram/dL. On the advice of my family doctor, I repeated the test because there is no history of thyroid issues in my family. The second test showed: T3 1.8 nmol/L, T4 65.7 nmol/L, and TSH 58.6 mIU/L. I am concerned about why the results vary so much. Should I continue consulting my general physician, or should I see a specialist? I am experiencing all the thyroid related symptoms as explained by my doctor. Kindly advise.

I am overweight and trying to reduce my weight, but I am not seeing quick results. My periods are regular. Is this fine? What else can I do to maintain regular periods?
