I recently received my routine checkup report, but since I am not from a medical background, I tried to look up the meaning of the tests online to see if everything is normal. However, I am still unsure. My results are Hemoglobin: 17.3 (High) RBC count: 5.9 (High) Hematocrit: 54.2 (High) Absolute Basophil Count: 00 (Low) MPV: 11.6 (High) Total Cholesterol Ratio: 2.64 (Low) BUN: 8.61 (Low) Could you please explain what these results mean? Are they within normal limits, or is there any cause for concern?

High Hb/RBC/HCT may suggest dehydration or high altitude living. Low BUN, Basophils not concerning. MPV high means larger platelets. Cholesterol ratio good.

View allHello Doctor, my reports consistently show normocytic, mildly hypochromic RBCs, and I am concerned about what this means. I am pregnant and currently taking iron supplements and bifolate tablets, yet the results have not changed. Does mildly hypochromic indicate anemia, and should I consider getting a thalassemia test done?

I have been suffering from cold and cough, and for the past two days, I noticed blood in my cough. I went to the hospital, and the doctor advised a blood test, which came back negative except for a mild infection. The doctor prescribed Azithromycin 500 and flu medicine. However, I am still coughing up blood 2 to 3 times. What should I do now?
