I was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency in my left leg and I'm not keen on surgery right now What other treatment options do I have Will I need to wear compression stockings forever or is there a way to reverse this condition

I've had constant swelling in my ankles for the past 6 years and nothing seems to help tried various treatments but no improvement. Is there any surgical option for this or could draining the fluid with a syringe work? Really worried it might be something serious.
MRI scan and follow up with orthopaedician is advised.
