I'm a 24-year-old woman dealing with some issues that are really worrying me. I've been in a stable relationship for quite a while and have been sexually active for about six years. Usually, everything's okay after sex, but sometimes, two days later, I get really painful vaginal discomfort. It's not all the time, but it's been happening more often. Also, my periods last for about 12 days, which feels longer than usual, and I've been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome. I've been on homeopathic treatment for six months. About ten days ago, I had intercourse and have been in severe pain ever since. It's been lingering for the past eight days, and I'm really struggling. What do you suggest I do at this point? It's becoming really tough to handle.

I'm sorry to hear about your pain. Persistent vaginal pain after sex could indicate an infection, irritation, or underlying issue like PCOS-related hormonal changes. Please consult a gynecologist promptly for an evaluation, as timely care is essential for your comfort and health.

I'm a bit worried about my Widal test results which came back with O at 140 and H at 180. I'm also pregnant, so I'm really concerned about whether these results indicate a positive or negative for typhoid fever. Could you help me understand what this means for my health and my pregnancy?

it means typhoid only but it is not a very specific test esp if done before 7 days of fever. kindly get a blood culture to confirm the same

I'm 34 weeks pregnant and my baby's weight is currently 2 kg, is this normal? I'm wondering if it's possible for my baby to gain up to 2.6 kg in the next 3 weeks. What steps can I take to help increase my baby's weight?

It is unlikely for the baby to gain 2.6 kg in just 3 weeks, but steady weight gain is expected in the third trimester. To support healthy fetal growth, make sure you are eating a balanced diet rich in nutrients such as protein, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats. Additionally, staying hydrated and getting regular prenatal check-ups can help monitor your baby's growth and development.

My mom is 49 and just found out she has multiple uterine fibroids with a bulky uterus and distorted shape. What could happen if she doesn't get treatment and what are her options? Is surgery usually recommended for this and what are the risks involved?

If left untreated, multiple uterine fibroids and a bulky uterus can lead to severe pain, excessive bleeding, anemia, and potentially infertility or complications during pregnancy. Treatment options range from medication to reduce symptoms and shrink fibroids to surgical removal of fibroids or the uterus. While surgery is an option, it's not always the first choice, and other options like medication, uterine artery embolization, or focused ultrasound may be considered. The decision of whether or not to proceed with surgery, and which surgical option is best, depends on the severity of symptoms, the size and location of the fibroids, and the patient's individual circumstances
