I'm a bit confused about my medication. I had COVID about a month ago and ended up in the ICU with severe pneumonia for 12 days. Thankfully, I'm home now and feeling healthier, but still having trouble breathing, especially when walking or exercising. My oxygen saturation is around 95-96. My doctor put me on pirfenidone 200 mg, twice a day, and also Foracort 200, twice a day. But I thought pirfenidone was for idiopathic lung fibrosis. Does this mean I might have fibrosis, or is there another reason for prescribing it? I'm really worried about this and would appreciate some insight.

I've been feeling a bit off lately. My chest feels heavy, so I got an x-ray done. They said everything looked normal except there's something called "hilar prominence" on the right side. I'm a smokercould that be the reason? Is this something I should be worried about? Also, I've noticed it hurts a bit when I shout or laugh. Could that be related?

Hilar prominence refers to the enlargement of the lymph nodes or blood vessels near the center of the chest, called the hilum. It's often seen in smokers, but its not necessarily serious. Since your chest X-ray came back normal otherwise, its likely not a major concern. However, if you're experiencing pain when laughing or shouting, its a good idea to follow up with a doctor for further evaluation.

I'm currently on tuberculosis treatment and taking Rcinex and Pyzina 1750. At night, I take Folfit. I'm wondering if it's okay to switch Folfit to FDson MP Forte since I've noticed they have the same chemical makeup. Can you let me know if that's a safe switch?
