I'm considering Femto or Lasik surgery for my 6 power eyes but not sure if it's the right time to go for it. How do I know if I'm a good candidate and what should I look for in a hospital or doctor to get the best results? Any advice on what to expect during recovery would be helpful too.

View allI have a prescription of -5 in my left eye and -4.5 in my right eye with 2.5 astigmatism in both eyes. Would I be a good candidate for LASIK? I'm really concerned about potential side effects like bad night vision, halos, and chronic dry eye after the surgery how likely are these to happen? What are the success rates for someone with my prescription? Could LASIK actually get me to a point where I don't need glasses anymore?
Patient is advised for an ophthalmologist opinion.

I have myopia with 5 and 4 power in my right and left eye and recently started seeing flashes. I also have retinal degeneration. I've seen four doctors two recommended barrage laser as a precaution while the other two said to wait unless my retina detaches. I'm 28 and unsure if I should get the laser done now or wait. If I do go for it, should it be done in one session for both eyes or split into multiple sittings? What would you suggest?
Barrage laser can prevent retinal detachment in high-risk degeneration; it’s usually safe to do both eyes in one sitting—go ahead if advised by retina specialist.
