I'm curious about drinking water and sleeping; does drinking water before taking a nap or going to sleep at night affect digestion? How long should I wait between drinking water and sleeping to avoid any issues?

It is generally fine to sleep after drinking water, both during the day or at night, as long as you don't drink excessive amounts right before lying down. Ideally, it's best to wait 30 minutes to an hour after drinking water before going to bed to avoid discomfort or indigestion. Drinking moderate amounts of water does not typically cause digestive problems, but drinking too much right before sleep can sometimes lead to bloating or frequent urination during the night.

I've been dealing with really bad breath for a while now and just don't know what to do. My dentist checked and said there's nothing wrong with my mouth, but the bad breath is still there even after I brush. I brush three times a day, use mouthwash, and everything, but the smell just doesn't go away. It's super embarrassing when people keep their distance or cover their noses. Even when I'm a few meters away, they cover their mouths. It makes me feel so left out and embarrassed. Can you help me figure out what might be causing this?

It sounds like you may be experiencing chronic bad breath, also known as halitosis. In cases where oral hygiene practices are not resolving the issue, it's important to consider other factors that could be causing the bad breath. One common cause of persistent bad breath is gastrointestinal issues such as acid reflux or gastritis. I recommend trying over-the-counter medication like Omeprazole (Prilosec) 20mg once daily before breakfast for 2 weeks to see if it helps improve your symptoms. Additionally, you can try using a tongue scraper to clean your tongue, as bacteria on the tongue can contribute to bad breath. If the bad breath persists despite these measures, it would be advisable to consult with a gastroenterologist for further evaluation and management.

I've been having this really uncomfortable acid reflux where I feel like throwing up or actually do after eating. I recently saw a doctor, who asked me to get a Bilirubin test. The results showed Bilirubin Total at 1.84 (range is 0.2 to 1.3) and Bilirubin Direct at 1.05 (range is 0.0 to 0.30). The doctor said it's Jaundice, but I'm not sure about that. Could you check out my report and tell me what the symptoms of Jaundice typically are?

Jaundice can result from high bilirubin levels, and elevated direct bilirubin often points to liver or bile duct issues. However, your symptoms like acid reflux and vomiting could indicate something different, such as gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD), or another digestive issue. It is important to follow up with your doctor to rule out any serious conditions and to confirm a diagnosis. If you have additional symptoms like yellowing of the skin or eyes, or if your discomfort worsens, it would be critical to seek medical attention promptly.
