I'm curious about why my eyes seem to turn red quite often. I notice it especially when I'm really tired. Could there be something specific causing this?

View allI've been having this annoying pain on the outside of my right eye for the last couple of days. It doesn't look red or anything, but it really hurts when I blink. I've tried using a cold compress, but it hasn't helped much. What should I do to get some relief?

I've noticed over the past few days that the corners of my wife's eyes are really itchy, and it's affecting the area under her eyes too. She's sometimes getting teary-eyed without any reason. Could you give me some advice on what might help, or should we consider seeing a doctor?
Wife may be experiencing symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis. I recommend using over-the-counter antihistamine eye drops such as Zaditor (Ketotifen) twice a day to help relieve the itching and watering. Additionally, applying a cold compress to the eyes can also provide relief. Make sure to avoid rubbing the eyes as it can worsen the symptoms. If the symptoms persist or worsen, please consult with a doctor for further evaluation and management.
