I'm currently taking levolin tablets as per my pulmonologist's instructions for the past week, but I'm not feeling any better. The tightness and pinching in my chest are still there. Could you give me some advice on what to do next?

I'm getting ready for a medical exam for my visa and I'm really worried because I'm a smoker. I usually go through about two to three packs a day, but after hearing about the x-ray exam, I got pretty anxious and decided I need to quit. The cravings have been intense, so I'm down to a maximum of five a day for now. Im wondering, do these changes or any lung patches I have increase the chances of my visa being rejected? I could use some advice.

It's great that you're trying to reduce your smoking, but lung patches can sometimes raise concerns during medical exams. However, cutting down to 5 cigarettes a day is a positive step. It's important to be honest during the examination and follow your healthcare provider's advice. Good luck with your visa process, and continue working towards quitting!

I've had TB and then caught COVID, and now I'm having chest pain and trouble breathing again. I'm wondering if I should get an HRCT or an MRI of my chest to check my lungs. I've had a few HRCTs before, but they have radiation, which worries me. Can you tell me which option might be better?

hrct is best
