I'm dealing with a mild disc bulge at the L5S1 level and kind of confused about which specialist to see. Should I go to an orthopedic doctor or a neurosurgeon for this? Any advice would be really appreciated.

For a mild disc bulge at the L5-S1 level, it's recommended to consult an Orthopedic Doctor (Orthopedic Spine Specialist) initially, as they can assess and manage most spinal conditions, including disc bulges; if surgery is required or if there are neurological concerns, your orthopedic doctor may refer you to a Neurosurgeon for further evaluation and treatment.

View allCan I get a total hip replacement done under spinal anesthesia if I have ankylosing spondylitis but my spine isn't fused yet I'm worried about general anesthesia because I feel weak and have breathlessness issues no other health problems diagnosed so far
Yes, you can likely have a total hip replacement under spinal anesthesia even with ankylosing spondylitis if your spine isn't fused yet. Regional anesthesia, including spinal and epidural, is often preferred over general anesthesia for hip replacements, and can be safely used in patients with ankylosing spondylitis

I'm 4 months out from ACL surgery and wondering if smoking or drinking alcohol could mess with my recovery does it slow down healing or weaken the graft?
Alcohol and smoking delay healing and graft integration—avoid for at least 6 months post-ACL surgery for optimal recovery.
