I'm dealing with PCOD and my gyno suggested I take ovacare Cap and APCOD 5gm sachet to help me conceive. But I only took ovacare and Ive missed my period days. Could it be possible to conceive just with the Ovacare tablet? I checked last Saturday and it was negative. What should I do? My last period started on October 30th, and I checked on December 10th. Any advice?

Ovacare is a supplement designed to support women's reproductive health, particularly for those with PCOD (Polycystic Ovary Disorder). While Ovacare can help regulate menstrual cycles and improve fertility, it's essential to understand that conception is a complex process.
Conception with Ovacare Alone
It's possible, but unlikely, to conceive with Ovacare alone, especially if you have PCOD. Ovacare is a supplement, not a fertility medication. PCOD often requires more comprehensive treatment, including medications that stimulate ovulation, like Clomid.
Negative Pregnancy Test
Given that you took the pregnancy test on December 10th, and your last period started on October 30th, it's possible that you might have ovulated later than expected. PCOD can cause irregular ovulation, making it challenging to predict fertile windows.
Next Steps
- Consult your gynecologist: Discuss your treatment plan, and ask about the possibility of ovulation induction medications.
- Continue Ovacare: If your doctor recommends it, continue taking Ovacare as directed.
- Track your ovulation: Use ovulation predictor kits (OPKs) or basal body temperature (BBT) charting to monitor your ovulation.
- Try again: If you haven't already, try to conceive again during your next fertile window.
Please consult your gynecologist for personalized guidance and to discuss the best course of treatment for your PCOD and fertility goals.

View allI'm five months pregnant and my recent ultrasound, the TIFFA scan, showed that my baby's kidneys are swelling. I'm really worried. Is this a major problem? Are there things I can do to help reduce the swelling before the next scan?
The swelling in your baby's kidneys, detected during the TIFFA scan at 5 months, may indicate a condition like hydronephrosis or pyelectasis, which can be caused by a urinary tract obstruction or infection; while it's a concern, many cases resolve on their own, and with proper monitoring and care, the prognosis is often good; to reduce swelling and ensure the best possible outcome, follow your doctor's recommendations, attend all scheduled prenatal appointments, and maintain a healthy lifestyle, including staying hydrated, eating a balanced diet, and managing stress.

It is generally safe to travel by train during your 7th week of pregnancy, but be sure to take some precautions. Stay hydrated, avoid standing for long periods, and make sure to take breaks to stretch your legs. Also, pack snacks and any medications you may need.
