I'm experiencing some pain on the left side of my chest and in my left arm. Its not really intense but it does come and go. Could you tell me what might be causing this and what I should do about it?

I've been smoking for a few years, and I've recently started feeling this mild pain in my heart, especially when I'm lying down.
