I'm getting ready for my right inguinal hernia surgery soon but I'm not sure if I should shave my groin area before the procedure. Also, I've been having pain all around that area and in my testicles what kind of ultrasound would be best to check that out?

My 3-month-old baby has had an umbilical hernia for the past month. The belly button swelling sometimes goes back in but other times stays out, though there's no pain. The ultrasound didn't show any blockages, but some doctors recommend surgery while others say to wait at least 2 years. What should I do?
