I'm really concerned because I've got this painful lump between my butt cheeks, on the right side, and its vertically between my anus and genitals. It's pretty painful and it's making it tough to walk or sit comfortably. Any idea what this could be and how I should handle it?

I've been dealing with a perianal abscess, and my ultrasound confirmed it. The doctors are saying I should have surgery, and I'm really anxious about any potential long-term effects it could have. Is surgery the only option here, or are there any alternatives I could consider? I'd really appreciate some guidance on this.
Surgery is usually the most effective treatment for perianal abscesses, and while there may be some short-term discomfort and risk of complications, long-term effects are generally minimal; however, to discuss alternatives and potential risks, consult your surgeon
