I'm really concerned because my TSH level is 4.01, but I haven't had any issues with my periods; they come every 30 days like clockwork, and I've had no other thyroid symptoms before. My doctor put me on Thyronorm 25mcg, and now I'm experiencing some worrying changes. My periods are delayed, and Im constantly feeling exhausted and down, almost like I'm a bit depressed all the time. Are these side effects from the medication? What should I do next?

I'm feeling a bit worried because a few weeks ago, I started experiencing this tingling pins-and-needles sensation in my feet and hands. It seems to happen in my feet mostly when I'm sitting cross-legged. I went to my doctor, did some tests for vitamin B12, vitamin D, and thyroid, and it turned out my vitamin D was really low, at 29 nmolL. I've been taking vitamin D tablets, but the tingling is still there when I sit a certain way. Plus, my hands get super dry at night. Could all these be related to the vitamin D deficiency?

The tingling sensation in your feet and hands, especially when sitting with legs crossed, and dry hands at night, may be partially related to Vitamin D deficiency, but other factors like poor circulation, nerve compression, or peripheral neuropathy might also contribute; continue taking Vitamin D supplements and consult your doctor to rule out other underlying causes and consider additional tests or referrals to a specialist if necessary.

My mom, who's 52, has been experiencing this burning sensation all over her body for about two months now. She's seen a couple of doctors, including a neurologist, and had tests done for sugar, BP, cholesterol, and nerves, but everything's coming back normal. The doctors recently told her she has hypothyroidism and she's been on medication for it for the last 25 days, but there's still no improvement. I'm really concerned and not sure what to do next. Could you offer any advice?

Since she has already consulted with a neurologist and undergone various tests which have come back normal, it may be worth considering neuropathic pain management. Medications such as Gabapentin (Neurontin) or Pregabalin (Lyrica) can be prescribed to help alleviate neuropathic pain. The dosage would depend on her individual condition and should be determined by her treating physician. Additionally, topical treatments like Capsaicin cream can also be used for localized relief. It's important to continue working closely with her healthcare provider to find the most effective treatment plan for her symptoms.
