I'm really curious about how long a single 0.5 ml dose of tetanus toxoid vaccine would last in someone who hasn't had any tetanus shots before. Like, would it give enough protection if they've never been vaccinated for tetanus? Just trying to understand how effective this dose would be in that situation.

View allI got a small cut on my left hand from the corner of my belt's buckle, which is made of steel. It was bleeding a little bit and the cut isnt very deep. The last time I had a tetanus shot was in August 2019, then before that in February 2019, and before that one in August 2018. I havent had any cuts needing a tetanus shot since then. Do I need to get another tetanus shot for this cut? How long do these shots usually protect you? Is getting one tetanus shot a year enough?
