I'm really curious about how much losing my sense of smell and taste is related to COVID. Is it normal that I can't detect things that are close by and having trouble telling the difference between salty and sweet? I don't have a cold or headache, just a bit of weakness, but I'm worried because my ability to smell things from a distance is off. Do these sound like COVID symptoms to you?

View allI've been noticing something weird every morning when I get up. After I wash my face with hot water, I notice something like coldness coming from my throat, and it's been happening for months. Plus, whenever I eat something cold or get exposed to cold weather, my throat gets all uncomfortable, like I'm going to catch a cold. Is there some special test I should look into to figure out what's going on?

I'm really worried about my brother. He was sleeping, and suddenly woke up with a sore throat. When he tried to cough, blood started coming out and it wouldn't stop for over an hour. It was pretty scary. Then, the same thing happened again after a week. What could be causing this, and should we be concerned?
