I'm really struggling with my allergic rhinitis, and I've had it for years. I got tested with a skin prick test and it turns out I'm allergic to dust mites and histamine. I haven't found any solution that works. Is there a way to actually cure this?

Aman, to help remove the stuck sensation:

Immediate Relief

  1. Drink plenty of warm water or tea to help dislodge any remaining particles.
  2. Gargle with salt water (14 teaspoon salt in 8 oz water) several times.

Soothing Measures

  1. Suck on lozenges or cough drops to stimulate saliva production.
  2. Use a humidifier to add moisture to the air.
  3. Try honey or Throat Coat Tea to calm the throat.

Medical Attention

If the sensation persists or worsens, consult a doctor or ENT specialist to rule out any complications.

I'm dealing with this annoying throat irritation followed by a dry cough that's been bothering me since last year. It seems to get better for a while, but then it just comes back. My local doctor mentioned it might be an allergy. I've been taking levocetirizine 5 mg and montelukast 10 mg, along with using a mometasone nasal spray for the past 5 days, but I'm not seeing any relief. It's quite frustrating. I also did some tests and my CRP came back negative, but my immunoglobulin serum IgE level is pretty high at 250. Could you guide me on what to do next? Is there something else I should be trying?

It seems like you are experiencing allergic symptoms in your throat and cough. Since you have already been taking Levocetirizine 5mg + Montelukast 10mg and Mometasone nasal spray with no relief, I would recommend adding a mucolytic and a cough suppressant to your treatment regimen. You can try taking Ambroxol 30mg twice daily for mucus clearance and Dextromethorphan 10mg for cough suppression as needed. Additionally, since your Immunoglobulin serum IgE level is high, you may benefit from adding a steroid inhaler like Fluticasone propionate for better control of your symptoms. Make sure to follow up with your doctor for further evaluation and management.

I've been noticing that whenever I touch something colder than the usual temperature, I start to sneeze. It's also happening with the early morning breeze sometimes, giving me that sneezing sensation. Is this something I should be concerned about or is it just a common reaction?

Chronic cold and cough can be frustrating. Considering your allergy-like symptoms, possible causes include: - Allergies (dust, pollen, pet dander) - Environmental factors (pollution, tobacco smoke) - Sinusitis or respiratory infections For relief, try: - Antihistamines (e.g., cetirizine, loratadine) - Decongestants (e.g., pseudoephedrine) - Nasal sprays (e.g., saline, oxymetazoline) - Drinking plenty of fluids - Using a humidifier Consult a doctor or allergist to determine the underlying cause and receive personalized guidance.
