I'm really worried about my mom. She has a peanut caught in her throat. It's been almost 4 hours now. She's able to breathe fine, but swallowing anything is making her really uncomfortable. What should we do? Should we be seeing someone or is there something we can try doing at home to help her out?

It sounds like your mother may have a foreign body sensation in her throat due to the peanut. I recommend she take 1-2 tablespoons of liquid antacid to help coat the throat and reduce discomfort. Additionally, she can try eating a small piece of banana or bread to help push the peanut down. However, if the symptoms persist or worsen, she should seek medical attention immediately.

View allI'm really worried about my 2-month-old son's hearing. He didn't pass the OAE test, and when we went for the BERA test, the right ear showed no response, and the left only a slight response at higher thresholds. Some folks tell me that hearing can still develop until he's around 1.5 years old, but our pediatrician thinks we should see an ENT for possible interventions once he turns 6 months. I'm torn about what to do. Can anyone recommend a good doctor who specializes in this? Also, are there any effective treatment options we should consider?
Its completely understandable to feel unsure and worried about your babys health, but following the pediatricians guidance to see an ENT specialist after 6 months is a wise decision. Early intervention can significantly improve the chances of normal speech and language development.

I've been dealing with this dry cough for the past 10 days and I went to see a doctor. They gave me antibiotics and anti-allergy meds, but I'm not seeing any improvement. The doctor checked and said my chest and throat are clear. A few days ago, they suggested I use betadine solution for gargling, but my voice is still blocked and this dry cough just won't go away. Any idea what might be going on or what else I should try?
. Rest. Get plenty of sleep and rest your voice. Drink fluids. Drink plenty of water to keep the throat moist and prevent dehydration. Try comforting foods and beverage. Warm liquids broth, caffeine-free tea or warm water with honey and cold treats such as ice pops can soothe a sore throat. Gargle saltwater. A saltwater gargle of 1 teaspoon. Gargle the solution and then spit it out.
