I'm really worried about my mom. She's 63 and has been experiencing this persistent itching in her right eye. Could you help me figure out what might be causing this and what we should do next?

View allI'm noticing that every month my eyes get red and itchy, but it's weird because it happens to only one eye at a time. If it's my right eye this month, then it's the left one the next month. I don't have any vision problems, but it usually happens close to my period. I've seen the doctor a few times and while the issue gets better with the prescribed stuff like Refresh Tears and Ketorolac Tromethamine ophthalmic solution, it keeps coming back. Do you know of any permanent solution for this?

I'm really worried about having dry eyes. Is it something that could eventually lead to losing my vision? Also, is this condition something that's going to stick around forever? Would love some guidance on what to expect.
No , dryeyes get infected easily and leads to refractive errors, hence should not be neglected, and usually it's not a chronic problem

One of my eyes is red and constantly watering, and I've noticed the eye has gotten smaller. Are there any drops you would recommend for this?
