I'm really worried about this swollen lymph node behind my ear that's been there for 2 months. I went to my GP a month ago, and they told me to wait another month, and if it didnt go down, to see a specialist. Ive got an appointment with a head and neck doctor, but it won't be for another month. Is it bad to wait that long if it turns out to be something serious like cancer? Could delaying by a month affect my prognosis? Should I start calling around to see if I can get in earlier? It's not painful and feels firm and round, about an inch in size. Im 23, female, and don't have any other symptoms. What should I do?

Your symptoms sound like they could be from a benign cause (such as a viral infection), but it's always better to be proactive about these things, especially with something thats been persistent for a few months. Keep an eye on the lymph node, and if youre feeling anxious, reaching out for additional support or testing might provide some reassurance.

Hey, I've been having this weird jaw pain right at the hinge, and I think it's a bit swollen, but only on the left side. I just had some dental work done on that side because of a cavity, and now it hurts to open my mouth wide. This all started last night, but for about five days before that, I'd wake up with a sore throat, a runny nose, and mucus. Strangely, during the day, I feel fine, but at night it all comes back until morning. There's also this occasional ringing noise in my left ear, like a beep, and it's around 814kHz or something. It's more obvious when I cover or muffle my ear. Any idea what's going on?

I'm having a bit of a hard time with my head feeling heavy and one of my ears being blocked for the last couple of days. It's kind of bothersome, and it's been causing some pain around my forehead and eyes too. Ive been told I have raised IgE levels, and I'm already using a nasal corticosteroid as part of my treatment. Could this be related? I'd appreciate some guidance on what might be going on.

I'm kind of worried about my recent neck x-ray. It showed enlarged adenoids, and I'm wondering if that's something I should be concerned about? I don't really have any symptoms, but I do feel like there's something swollen in my neck. Does this sound like something serious?

ince you are not currently experiencing significant symptoms, it is likely that the enlarged adenoids are not a cause for immediate concern. However, it is still a good idea to discuss your X-ray results with your doctor for further evaluation. They can help determine if any follow-up is needed or if simple measures can manage the condition effectively.
