I'm really worried about what my doctor mentioned in my last appointment. He said something about my heart working at only 25%, and I'm not sure what that means. Is he correct? What should I do next?

The doctor's assessment of your heart functioning at 25% is indicative of a condition known as heart failure. In such cases, medications like Carvedilol (Coreg) at a starting dose of 3.125 mg twice daily can be prescribed to help improve heart function and symptoms. Additionally, medications like Lisinopril (Zestril) at a starting dose of 2.5-5 mg once daily can also be beneficial in managing heart failure. It is important to follow your doctor's advice closely and attend regular follow-up appointments for monitoring and adjustments to your treatment plan.

Sir, I'm 27 and have no bad habits like drinking or smoking, but my weight is 80 kg. For the past year, I've experienced daily pain in my left chest. Throughout this time, I've had 20 ECGs, 2 echocardiograms, and a TMT that was negative. My troponin levels are normal, along with a normal chest X-ray, random blood sugar, renal function tests, and thyroid function tests. My blood pressure is high at 16298, so I'm on Telma 20 tablets. Six months ago, my lipid profile was normal too. Why do I keep getting this pain in my left chest? It's causing me a lot of anxiety, and I worry about dying. I even got an ECG yesterday and attached the pic. Is there any other test I should consider for this pain?

The tests you have done so far indicate that your heart and other vital organs are functioning normally. Since your chest pain has been persisting for a year and you have already undergone multiple tests, it is important to consider other possible causes for your symptoms. One potential reason for your chest pain could be related to musculoskeletal issues or anxiety. I recommend trying over-the-counter pain relief medication like acetaminophen for your chest pain. Additionally, practicing relaxation techniques such as deep breathing exercises or yoga may help alleviate any anxiety-related chest discomfort. If your symptoms persist or worsen, you may consider consulting with a specialist such as a cardiologist or a gastroenterologist for further evaluation. They may suggest additional tests or imaging studies based on their clinical assessment. Remember to maintain a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise and a balanced diet, to support your overall well-being. If you have any concerns or new symptoms, do not hesitate to seek medical advice promptly.

I'm really worried about my dad's blood pressure. It was high at 160110 before, but after he started taking Metocard XL 25 and Triolmesar 20 for about a month, it's dropped to 8772, measured with a digital Omron monitor. Do you think he should keep taking his current medication or adjust the dose? Also, he's diabetic and taking Glyciphage SR 500 and Tenlimac 20. Plus, he's being treated for prostate issues with Maxvoid 8. Could all these medications be affecting his blood pressure too much? What would be the best course of action?

Given the significant drop in blood pressure from 160110 to 8772, it is important to reassess the medication regimen. In this case, it is advisable to consult with your father's healthcare provider to adjust the dosage or possibly consider discontinuing one of the antihypertensive medications. Lowering the dose of Metocard XL 25 or Triolmesar 20 may be necessary to prevent hypotension, especially considering his current blood pressure readings. Regular monitoring and coordination with his healthcare provider are essential to ensure optimal management of his hypertension while taking into account his diabetes and prostate issues.

I'm a bit worried since I tested positive for COVID on May 17th but didn't have any symptoms except for a dry throat. I'm feeling better now, but since May 27th, I've been experiencing a mild burning sensation in my chest and some pain in my left shoulder and hand every now and then. I've been taking doxycycline and dolo 650 twice a day for 6 days, and ivermectin 12mg for 4 days. I've also been using vitamin tablets and adding spices like pepper, cloves, and cinnamon to my food for 9 days. My oxygen levels are around 98-99 and my pulse is 80. Apart from that, I don't have any other health issues. I'm also using pan d tablets, but I'm still feeling the burning in my chest. Could you please help me understand what's going on?
