I'm suffering from thyroid eye disease and currently getting treated at AIIMS New Delhi. They recommended decompression surgery but the ENT department doesn't have any near dates available for the procedure. Can you suggest the best surgeon for this surgery? I'm really worried about the delay in treatment.

View allI'm highly myopic and considering strabismus surgery but worried about pain and double vision afterward does the procedure hurt and how common are these risks for someone with severe nearsightedness?
Strabismus surgery generally involves minimal pain, with most patients experiencing mild discomfort that can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. Double vision (diplopia) is a more common concern, but it's often temporary, with many experiencing a significant improvement within the first few weeks. While severe nearsightedness (high myopia) doesn't necessarily increase the risk of pain or double vision, it can be a factor in the success of the surgery and the need for post-operative adjustments, so it's important to discuss this with your surgeon

My eyesight prescription is SPH -3.00, CYL -1.50, and AXIS 180 in both eyes. I also have thin corneas would PRK, LASIK, or Contoura Vision be the best surgery option for me?

Can a slit lamp microscope alone detect if PRK or TransPRK surgery has fully healed or would I need additional tests to confirm everything's okay
No, slit lamp alone can't confirm healing after PRK/TransPRK. Additional tests like corneal topography, pachymetry, and visual acuity are needed for complete assessment.
