I'm waking up and noticing that I'm spitting brown saliva, which is really unusual for me. I've never smoked or drank, and this is the first time I've experienced something like this. Could you help me understand what might be going on?

Brown saliva in the morning could be due to various reasons such as dehydration, nasal congestion, or even minor bleeding in the mouth during the night. However, if this persists, it is important to consult a doctor for further evaluation. In the meantime, you can try using a saline nasal spray to help with any nasal congestion and ensure you are staying hydrated throughout the day.

I'm not a heavy smoker or anything, and honestly, I've only been smoking for about 4 or 5 years. I've cut down a lot, but I still have a cigarette now and then. What I'm really wondering about is, does smoking when you have a throat infection make the chances of getting oral cancer higher?
