I'm wondering if bronchitis can be detected with a blood test, or if there are other tests that could help identify it. I'm looking for a quick and straightforward way to get a diagnosis. Any advice?

-
Role of Blood Tests in Bronchitis
- Blood tests, like a Complete Blood Count (CBC), are not typically used to diagnose bronchitis but can help assess infection severity or rule out other conditions.
-
Common Diagnostic Methods for Bronchitis
- Diagnosis usually involves a physical exam and listening to the lungs with a stethoscope.
- Chest X-rays may be used to exclude pneumonia or other lung issues.
- Sputum tests can identify infections if a productive cough is present.
-
Quick and Straightforward Diagnosis Approach
- Visit a healthcare provider for a clinical evaluation. Diagnosis is mainly based on symptoms and a physical exam.
-
When to Seek Further Testing or Specialist Care
- Seek further testing or a pulmonologist referral if symptoms persist or worsen, or if there are signs of a more serious condition.

View allI'm having a really tough time with my breathing, and recently, I think it might be Phlegm-related. A while back, I had a lot of sugary stuff, and then I started having trouble with this wet cough and lots of Phlegm. My doctor suggested Asthalin AX syrup for this wet cough, and it helped some with the Phlegm. Also, I noticed when I stopped the sweets, the Phlegm kind of stopped too. But even now and then, I still feel like I'm not getting enough air. I've been on some antibiotics for an infection like the Symbiotik capsule, vycor forte tablet, Bethansol tablet, and Asthalin Ax Syrup. I'm really concerned if it's okay to take all these medicines to sort out the shortness of breath because of the Phlegm and the cough. I'm just looking for some advice on how to deal with the short breath due to this cough and Phlegm situation.

I'm really loving the benefits of Amla juice for my skin and hair, but I've been having some trouble breathing at night, which is affecting my sleep. I saw a local doctor who suggested taking Azithromycin 500mg at night and advised stopping all sour foods and Amla juice. Is there any way I can address the breathing issue without having to give up Amla juice? It's been really effective for me and I don't want to stop if possible.
Continue all the medications. Also seroflo rotahaler sos is advised to the patient during breathing difficulty.

I'm really worried about my dad. He had COVID recently and now the doctor mentioned that he has some kind of fistula in his left lung. I'm not sure what this means for his recovery or his health in general. Could you explain what a fistula in the lung is and how serious it might be? Is it something that happens because of COVID infections, and what kind of treatment should he expect?
