I'm wondering if a TSH level of 12.20 Micro IUmL is considered normal or high? If it is high, how many micrograms should a 33-year-old woman take to manage it? Could you give me some guidance?

Elevated Bilirubin and Liver Enzymes
Interpretation
- Total Bilirubin: Above 1.5 mgdL is mildly elevated.
- SGOT (AST) and SGPT (ALT): Above 50 UL is mildly elevated.
Possible Causes
- Liver inflammation: Mild elevation in liver enzymes can indicate liver inflammation.
- Bile duct obstruction: Elevated bilirubin can indicate bile duct obstruction or liver dysfunction.
- Medication side effects: Certain medications can cause elevated liver enzymes.
- Underlying medical conditions: Conditions like fatty liver disease, viral hepatitis, or autoimmune hepatitis.
Recommendations
- Repeat tests: Repeat liver function tests (LFTs) and bilirubin levels to confirm the elevations.
- Imaging studies: Consider ultrasound or MRI of the liver and bile ducts to rule out obstruction or structural abnormalities.
- Autoimmune and viral markers: Test for autoimmune hepatitis and viral hepatitis (e.g., hepatitis B and C) to rule out underlying infections.
- Medication review: Review your medications with your doctor to determine if any are contributing to the elevated liver enzymes.
- Consult a gastroenterologist: Consider consulting a gastroenterologist for further evaluation and guidance.
Quantity Follow-Up
- Regular monitoring: Regularly monitor your LFTs and bilirubin levels to track any changes.
- Adjust frequency: Adjust the frequency of follow-up appointments based on the stability of your test results.

View allI've been hitting the gym consistently for the past couple of months and can definitely feel myself getting stronger. But I've been reading online and I'm worried I might have low testosterone since a lot of the symptoms match what I've been experiencing. How do I go about testing my testosterone levels? Also, is there any medication to boost testosterone that wont come with major side effects? Just so you know, I've got hypertension and I'm overweight, though I've been shedding some pounds slowlycurrently at 88 kgs and I'm 5ft 7inches.
To test your testosterone levels, consult an endocrinologist who will recommend a blood test, typically taken in the morning when testosterone levels are highest, and may also perform a physical exam and review your medical history; if diagnosed with low testosterone, treatment options may include testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) via gels, patches, or injections, but be aware that TRT may have side effects, such as acne, sleep apnea, or prostate issues; given your hypertension and weight status, lifestyle modifications, such as regular exercise, weight loss, and stress management, can also help boost testosterone levels naturally.

I'm on thyronorm 75 MCG since last June for subclinical hypothyroidism, my level was 7.50 back then. I haven't checked my thyroid levels or seen the doctor since because I've been feeling okay, but lately, I've been experiencing back pain and sometimes I get blue vision. Could this be related to the thyronorm tablets I'm taking? Any advice would be helpful.

I'm a 23-year-old guy, standing at 5'9.5". I'm really interested in knowing if I can still increase my height at this age. Could you give me some advice on this?
Growth plates in the bones of the human body close by the age of 18-21 years (for males). After these growth plates close, it is generally not possible to increase height through natural methods or medical intervention like growth hormone therapy. You may try to improve posture or focus on stretching and yoga in order to increase your perceived height.
