Is it okay to have gallbladder surgery during my period since my operation is scheduled for October 1st and I might be on my cycle then
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
Yes, it is generally okay to have surgery during your period, including a gallbladder surgery. Your period does not affect the surgical outcome or need to be rescheduled. While it may be a little more uncomfortable, surgeons are accustomed to dealing with blood during surgery, and it's important to inform the medical staff so they can provide you with appropriate sanitary products and assistance

View allI'm 30, unmarried, and was diagnosed with a groin hernia 9 months ago. Right now, there's no pain, just a bulge. I have a few concerns first, is open surgery or laparoscopic better for this? Second, if I don't get surgery, could it affect my sex life? And if I do get surgery, does it matter if it's before or after marriage will it impact my sexual function? Also, can I still work out, run, and jump if I don't get surgery? And after surgery, how soon can I get back to gym and sports?
Hernotomy and repair of hernia wall is advised at apollo hospital.

My sister is 38 with Down syndrome and has a 4.8mm gallstone her gallbladder is partially contracted. Does she definitely need surgery or are there other options we can consider?
Depends on her symptoms and clinical findings among other issues. See a laparoscopic/general surgeon and discuss in details

My granny was diagnosed with gallstones the largest one is 12mm and there are a few smaller ones too. I've heard surgery to remove the gallbladder is the only option, but I was wondering if homeopathy could help in this case? Would love to know if there are other alternatives.
A detailed evaluation will help decide the best course of action.
