I've been dealing with complete rectal prolapse for over 10 years since I was young and now I'm 19. I'm scheduled for TRRPCS surgery but I'm not sure if it's the best option for me especially since I want to join the defense forces. Are there better surgical alternatives I should consider that would fit my active career goals?

TRRPCS is a good option for young patients with prolapse; however, rectopexy or laparoscopic procedures may offer better durability for physically demanding careers.

I'm really worried and wondering if what I'm dealing with is a hemorrhoid. It started itching really badly after I had anal sex without using any lube, and as soon as we were done, I felt uncomfortable. I checked and saw something protruding, so I tried to push it back in, but that didn't seem to help. Now it feels bigger, it itches a lot more, and it's still protruding. Could you help me figure out what's going on?

I'm experiencing this pain just above my rectum for the last few days, and it's getting pretty intense, especially when I'm moving around on the bed or walking quickly. I don't feel anything abnormal there, but the pain kicks in when I apply pressure to that area. Do you think this might be inflammation or perhaps something else? What type of doctor should I see for an early check-up?

You should consult a proctologist or gastroenterologist for an early examination. They will assess your symptoms, perform a physical examination and possibly imaging studies to diagnose the cause of the pain. Common causes include hemorrhoids, anal fissures, proctalgia fugax or pelvic floor dysfunction. Self-care measures include applying warm compresses, maintaining good bowel habits and managing stress.

My sister is 5 months pregnant and has piles fistula can she get laser surgery for it now? Will the laser treatment affect her pregnancy in any way?

some doctors recommend postponing laser surgery for piles and fistula until after delivery, others find it safe during pregnancy, especially in the second trimester. Laser surgery is generally considered safer than traditional surgery during pregnancy due to its lower risk of bleeding, infection, and other complications.
