I've been dealing with a cough for the past five days, and I've also got a sore throat. The cough mostly happens at night and it's super dry. None of the meds seem to be helping so far. I've also had an X-ray done could you tell me if it looks normal?

I'm having a really hard time breathing normally. I used to smoke regularly, but I've quit that habit recently. Now, when I breathe, it feels like the muscles on the left side of my chest are stretching, and I can't seem to breathe properly. I've also stopped drinking alcohol, which I did before. I'm having some trouble with congestion in my chest and hearing noises when I breathe, mostly because of dust, I think.
