I've been dealing with a dry cough for about four months now since having COVID. I've already had a chest X-ray and a CT scan, and both showed everything is normal. I'm a bit worried because the cough just won't go away. Could you recommend a good medicine or treatment to help with this?

The doctor advised me to stop after 9 months, which I did, but now I'm experiencing a fever and a slow cough again. I've been dealing with a persistent cough and lots of phlegm for the past three weeks. The phlegm is really thick and sticky, and its usually yellow or green. Ive tried antibiotics, cough medicine, drinking more water, and several home remedies I found online, but nothing seems to completely clear it up. My cough is mostly dry and happens a lot in the mornings and at night, but Im still dealing with so much sticky phlegm. Do you think this might be a viral or bacterial infection? Any advice would be really helpful.
