I've been dealing with going to the toilet 10 to 12 times a day, and sometimes it's even more than that. It's been happening for six months now. Any ideas on what might be going on or suggestions on what I should do about it?

Dog Bite Incident and Potential Infection Risk

Assessment:

  1. Minor wound: The wound was small and healed quickly.
  2. Prompt wound care: You washed the wound with Dettol liquid, reducing the risk of infection.
  3. Low-risk bite: The dog's tooth only grazed the skin, and the wound didn't become infected.

Precautions and recommendations:

  1. Monitor for symptoms: Keep an eye out for signs of infection, such as redness, swelling, increased pain, or pus.
  2. Rabies risk is low: Given the minor nature of the wound and the fact that the dog is still alive and healthy (sleeping in the same place every day), the risk of rabies transmission is low.
  3. Tetanus shot: If you're not up-to-date on your tetanus vaccinations, consider getting a booster shot.
  4. Consult a doctor: Schedule a consultation with your primary care physician or an infectious disease specialist to discuss your concerns and determine if any further action is needed.

No need for:

  1. Post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) for rabies: Given the low-risk nature of the incident.
  2. Immediate antibiotic treatment: Unless symptoms of infection develop.

I'm noticing that I've been producing a lot more saliva recently, and I'm not sure why this is happening. I also tend to drink a lot of water throughout the day. Could these be related, or should I be concerned about something else going on with my health?

Excessive saliva production, also known as hypersalivation or sialorrhea, can be caused by various factors, including drinking excessive water, which can stimulate saliva production; other possible reasons include gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), oral infections, hormonal changes, anxiety, or certain medications; consider consulting a dentist or an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist to rule out any underlying conditions and discuss ways to manage excessive saliva production.

Some cases can be managed without surgery, while others may require it for effective treatment. A detailed evaluation will help decide the best course of action.
